The average waiting period for an applicant is approximately 3.5 years from the date of application.
The application process takes 4-6 weeks and applicants are placed on the list as the date they applied. When a unit becomes available, applications are pulled by the date of placement on list.
If you are currently on the waitlist it is your responsibility to update your address and phone number by properly notifying MCHA. This can be done verbally over the phone since we will have you verify your identity first.
Every April an interest letter will be mailed to the address we have on file. If this letter is not returned promptly, we must assume that you are no longer interested and your application will be removed from our waiting list. If this letter is returned to us by the USPS, we will attempt to call you or contact you at a forwarding address.
